Callistemon Rigidus - Bottlebrush
Callistemon rigidus is possibly the hardiest of the Australian 'Bottlebrushes' with stiff stems that proudly show off the extravagant blooms. In some areas they are best grown in large pots which can be overwintered indoors. A half hardy shrub. A native of Australia, specifically Queensland and New South Wales. The name derives from the Greek kallos, beauty and stemon, stamen. Aptly known as Stiff Bottlebrush because of its bright upright blooms.
