Baptisia
Baptisia australis forms dense clumps of attractive foliage and produces panicles of intense indigo blue flowers which are followed by pretty, inflated seed pods. Tolerates dry soils and makes a great cut flower. Baptisia australis Papilionaceae is a drought tolerant perennial with vivid blooms. The name derives from the greek 'bapto' to dye. This is because some plants in this famaly can be used to produce an indigo-like hence its common name of 'False Indigo'
